Rules

• Competition starts 29th January 2021
• Final round will be called 19th November 2021.
• Competition format is Individual Stableford
• HNSA handicaps will apply throughout
• Non-affiliated or PGA pros without official handicaps will submit last handicap & adhere to specific handicap recalculation formula.
• Entry is limited to Global Golf and affiliated businesses only.
• Annual subscription fee will be R200 per player.
• Each round played will attract a R50 competition fee per player
• All funds received will go into prize pot.
• In order to have your round qualify for the Global Golf Champs – at least one other Global Golf participating member needs to play within your 4-ball. (2 and 3-balls will also qualify)
• ALL qualifying rounds must be submitted with scorecards
• A minimum of 8 qualifying rounds must be completed in order to qualify for finals or prizes. No refunds will be received, if qualification is not achieved. 75% of these qualifying rounds need to be played with a Global Golf )or affiliated business) staff member. The other 25% can be made up of social rounds played with other golfers.
• Stableford scores will be recorded and leaderboard/Order of merit created as per your rolling average score

For those players without official handicaps their handicap will be adjusted after each round as follows:

  • 30 points or lower = handicap up by 2
  • 31 – 33 points – handicap up by 1
  • 34 – 36 points – no change
  • 37 – 39 points – handicap cut by 1
  • 40 points or more – handicap cut by 2

The Champion Golfer of year will be determined as follows:
1. Top three as of 19th Nov 2021 will automatically qualify for semi-final knock out match play
2. The 4th semi-final or Wild-Card, position will be determined by a lucky draw off ALL players ranked 4th and lower
3. Semi finals will see 1st vs Wild-Card, and 2nd vs 3rd – played over 18 holes
4. The final will be played on a separate date to determine a winner. 3rd and 4th place playoff will also be determined on the same date
5. Should the playoffs be between players from different regions – a ‘virtual’ playoff will be held where the two contestants will play simultaneously at two different venues, unless alternative arrangements can be made.
6. Prize funds will be split from the accumulated pot per the following split: 1st – 50% , 2nd – 25%, 3rd – 15% , 4th – 10%

The competition committee is made up of Mark Anders, Paul Bradshaw and Hannes van Rooyen – all decisions made are final!
